MetXFit is led by Russ and John, experienced, approachable coaches who specialise in helping people feel comfortable, confident and supported — whatever their starting point.
We understand that starting (or restarting) exercise can feel daunting. That’s why our focus is on clear explanations, encouragement and progress

We understand that starting (or restarting) exercise can feel daunting. That’s why our focus is on clear explanations, encouragement and progress at your own pace, not pressure or perfection.
John believes fitness should feel welcoming, achievable and enjoyable, especially for people who haven’t exercised in a while.
He’s passionate about helping people build strength and confidence safely, with sessions that are structured, supportive and easy to follow.
Favourite part of coaching: seeing people realise they’re capable of more than they thought.
Russ creates sessions that are friendly, adaptable and beginner-focused, so everyone feels comfortable from their very first class.
Known for his calm, encouraging coaching style, Russ helps members progress steadily while keeping sessions relaxed and enjoyable.

I went for a session at MetxFit back in September, dragged my husband and daughter along and it's now our regular Friday night fitness session.
I started with no prior fitness experience, over weight, no energy and no stamina. 8 weeks on, I've lost a stone, feel energised, able to push myself further to feel the burn and proud of my achievement.
John and Russell at MetxFit have given me the confidence and support to be able to believe in myself. They create a varied circuit class each week for cardio and strengthening. The variety keeps the circuit fun and interesting.

The encouragement and energy of these guys have helped me improve immeasurably. Every session is packed with fun, but each one also helped me to cope with my anxiety.
